How much does it cost?
For Pet Owners: Always free to create profiles and access basic features.
For Shelters: Completely free forever—all tools and ShelterCARD programs.
For Partners: Initial enrollment is free to seed the network. Later, there's a one-time partnership fee plus 10% commission on sales, with a portion of proceeds shared with local shelters.
Is my pet's information secure?
Absolutely. We use enterprise-grade encryption for all data at rest and in transit. You maintain complete control over who can access your pet's profile and what information they can see. All access is logged with complete audit trails, and you can revoke consent at any time.
Digital Pet Profiles
What information is included in a Digital Pet Profile?
Complete medical history (vaccinations, medications, allergies), behavioral insights (commands, likes/dislikes, training level), compatibility data (good with kids, other pets), identification details (microchip, photos), and care preferences (feeding, exercise, grooming needs).
How do veterinarians access my pet's profile?
Vets can scan your pet's existing microchip or you can show a secure QR code on your phone. With your consent, they'll have instant access to relevant medical information. You control exactly what information is shared with each provider.
Can I update my pet's profile?
Yes! You can update your pet's profile anytime with new medical information, behavioral changes, or care preferences. Your veterinarian can also add information with your consent. The profile grows and evolves with your pet.
ShelterCARD Questions
Which pets are eligible for ShelterCARD?
Only pets adopted from shelters or registered rescue organizations qualify. We verify adoption status with the original shelter. Once verified, your pet receives lifelong ShelterCARD benefits—no renewal required.
What kinds of discounts are available?
Veterinary care, medications, premium nutrition, grooming, training classes, boarding services, toys and accessories, plus occasional non-pet perks like pet-friendly hotels. Discounts typically range from 10-30% off regular prices.
How do I use my ShelterCARD benefits?
Simply show your QR code or scan your pet's microchip at participating partner locations. The system instantly verifies your pet's adoption status and applies eligible discounts. It's that simple!
Can I add multiple pets?
Absolutely! Each adopted pet gets their own Digital Pet Profile and qualifies for ShelterCARD benefits. There's no limit to how many rescue pets you can add to your account.

How do businesses join the partner network?

How do I verify ShelterCARD holders?
