Shelter Pawtners is a platform that connects pet owners who have adopted from shelters with local businesses offering discounts on pet care services. We facilitate:

• Pet owner account creation and management
• Pet profile creation and veterinary record storage
• Adoption verification with shelters
• Business partner directory and discount access
• Digital and physical membership ID cards

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
• All information you provide is accurate and complete
• You will maintain the accuracy of your information

4. Account Registration

4.1 Pet Owner Accounts

To use our Services as a pet owner, you must:

• Create an account with accurate information
• Provide proof of your pet's adoption from a shelter or rescue
• Keep your account credentials confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

4.2 Business Partner Accounts

To become a business partner, you must:

• Submit a complete and accurate business application
• Provide proof of business license and insurance
• Agree to offer stated discounts to verified members
• Maintain compliance with all applicable laws
• Pay applicable partnership fees

5. Verification Process

We verify pet adoption status by contacting the shelter or rescue organization you specify. By submitting your information, you authorize us to:

• Contact the shelter to verify adoption information
• Share necessary details to confirm your pet's adoption
• Deny or revoke membership if verification fails

6. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Share your membership credentials with non-members
• Use the Services for illegal purposes
• Attempt to circumvent verification processes
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users or businesses
• Upload viruses or malicious code
• Scrape or copy content without permission
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Services

7. Member Benefits and Discounts

7.1 Discount Availability

Partner businesses independently determine their discount offerings. We do not guarantee:

• Specific discount amounts or availability
• That all services will be discounted
• Continued participation of any specific business
• Availability of appointments or services

7.2 Discount Usage

When using your membership:

• Present your valid membership ID
• Follow each business's specific discount policies
• Discounts cannot be combined with other offers unless stated
• Discounts apply only to the member's verified pets

8. Business Partner Obligations

Business partners agree to:

• Honor stated discounts to verified members
• Verify membership before applying discounts
• Provide quality services in accordance with professional standards
• Maintain current and accurate business information
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Notify us of any changes to discount offerings

9. Fees and Payments

9.1 Pet Owner Fees

Membership for pet owners is currently free. We reserve the right to implement fees in the future with 30 days advance notice.

9.2 Business Partner Fees

Business partners pay monthly fees based on their selected partnership tier. Fees are:

• Charged monthly in advance
• Non-refundable except as required by law
• Subject to change with 30 days notice
• Due regardless of membership usage

10. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Services are owned by Shelter Pawtners and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
• Use our trademarks or logos without authorization
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Create derivative works based on our Services

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

• Warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties of non-infringement
• That the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free
• That defects will be corrected
• That the Services are secure or free from harmful components

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHELTER PAWTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Quality of services provided by partner businesses
• Actions or omissions of partner businesses
• Availability or accuracy of discounts

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shelter Pawtners and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Services
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any false or misleading information you provide

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent activity or misrepresentation
• Failure to verify adoption status
• Non-payment of fees (for business partners)
• Any other reason at our sole discretion

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately.

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at legal@shelterpawtners.org.

16.2 Arbitration

Any dispute not resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except as modified by these Terms.

16.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that disputes will be resolved individually and not as part of any class or representative action.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Shelter Pawtners regarding the Services.
